Ad Network Setup

Send installs to each network, and import its spend for ROAS.

How it works

Every network has one card in the dashboard under Integrations, Ad networks. Each card does two separate jobs. Set up either one, or both.

JobDirectionWhy
Send installsMeasura to the networkThe network learns which ads bring installs and buys, and shows your ads to more of the right people.
Import spendThe network to MeasuraYour spend per campaign, so the Revenue page can show return on ad spend (ROAS).

Which installs are sent

An install goes only to the network whose Measura link was clicked. A TikTok link install goes to TikTok, never to Meta. Installs from SMS, QR codes or organic traffic are not sent to click-based networks.

Google Ads app conversions is the exception: Google receives every install and decides for itself which ones its ads drove.

One app or all apps

With more than one app, pick an app at the top of the Ad networks tab. An app's own setup wins over the All apps one, so each app can send to its own Meta dataset. Apps without their own setup use All apps. Spend is set under All apps only, because it belongs to an ad account, not an app.

Who can do what

  • Setting up Send installs needs the developer role or above.
  • Pasting a network token, and Import spend, need the owner.
  • Import spend is included from the Growth plan.

Meta

Send installs

  1. 1.In Meta Events Manager, open the dataset for your app. Copy its Dataset ID.
  2. 2.In the same dataset, open Settings and generate a Conversions API access token. A system user token from Business Settings with access to the dataset also works.
  3. 3.In Measura, on the Meta card, click Set up. Keep Meta Conversions API.
  4. 4.Paste the Dataset ID. Leave the Graph API version as v21.0 and the event name as Install unless you have a reason to change them.
  5. 5.Paste the access token, choose installs, purchases or both, and save.

The card shows Waiting for the first install until Meta accepts one, then the date of the last delivery.

Import spend

  1. 1.On the Meta card, click Connect and sign in with Facebook.
  2. 2.Enter the Ad account id: the number after act_ in Meta Ads Manager's account menu.
  3. 3.Tick Import spend automatically and save.

Google

Send installs

Google offers two targets. Most app advertisers want the first.

OptionUse it when
Google Ads app conversionsYou run Google Ads app campaigns. This is the default.
Google Campaign Manager 360Your agency tracks conversions with CM360 Floodlight.

Google Ads app conversions

  1. 1.In Google Ads, link a third-party app analytics provider for your app and choose Other provider. Copy the Link ID it gives you.
  2. 2.In Measura, on the Google card, click Set up. Keep Google Ads app conversions.
  3. 3.Paste the Link ID, choose installs, purchases or both, and save.

Google Campaign Manager 360

  1. 1.In CM360, note your profile ID, Floodlight configuration ID and Floodlight activity ID.
  2. 2.In Google Cloud, create a service account key (JSON) and give its client_email access to your CM360 advertiser.
  3. 3.In Measura, Set up, choose Google Campaign Manager 360, fill the three IDs, paste the whole JSON file, and save.

Import spend

  1. 1.On the Google card, click Connect and sign in with the Google account that runs your ads.
  2. 2.Enter the Customer id: the 10-digit number at the top of Google Ads, like 123-456-7890.
  3. 3.Tick Import spend automatically and save.

TikTok

Send installs

  1. 1.In TikTok Events Manager, open your app. Copy its TikTok App ID.
  2. 2.In the app's Settings, generate an Events API access token.
  3. 3.In Measura, on the TikTok card, click Set up, paste the App ID, leave the event name as InstallApp, paste the token, and save.

Import spend

  1. 1.On the TikTok card, click Connect and sign in to TikTok for Business.
  2. 2.If the sign-in covers one advertiser, its Advertiser id is filled in for you. Otherwise, enter the one to import.
  3. 3.Tick Import spend automatically and save.

Snapchat

Send installs

  1. 1.In Snapchat Events Manager, copy your Snap App ID.
  2. 2.In Snapchat Ads Manager, Business Details, generate a Conversions API Token.
  3. 3.In Measura, on the Snapchat card, click Set up, paste the Snap App ID, leave the event name as APP_INSTALL, paste the token, and save.

Tag your Snapchat links with the Snapchat channel, so their installs are sent here.

Import spend

  1. 1.On the Snapchat card, click Connect and sign in.
  2. 2.Enter the Ad account id from Snapchat Ads Manager, under Business Details.
  3. 3.Tick Import spend automatically and save.

WhatsApp Business

Click-to-WhatsApp ads are measured by Meta, so WhatsApp Business sends through Meta's Conversions API. Follow the Meta steps on the WhatsApp Business card, and tag your links with the WhatsApp channel.

WhatsApp has no spend API. Add its spend by hand on the Revenue page.

X (Twitter)

X has no install API. On the X card, Set up sends installs from your X links to your own https:// address as Measura JSON. The shape is in the API reference.

X has no spend API. Add its spend by hand on the Revenue page.

Sending to your own URL

Every network except WhatsApp can instead send to your own address: in Set up, choose Your own URL (Measura JSON) and paste an https:// URL. Use this when a partner or your own server translates the events. The payload is documented in the API reference.

How imported spend reaches ROAS

Measura reads yesterday's spend for each campaign every hour. Spend is matched to a Measura campaign by the network's own campaign id.

  1. 1.On the Revenue page, under Campaigns, create a campaign for each ad campaign you run.
  2. 2.Set its Network campaign id to the campaign's id in Meta, Google Ads, TikTok or Snapchat.
  3. 3.Tag your links with that campaign.

Unlinked spend

Spend for a campaign id Measura does not know yet shows under Unlinked spend on the Revenue page. Click Create campaign next to it. Its earlier spend is linked at once and counted in ROAS.

When something goes wrong

If a pull fails, the card shows Needs attention and the owner gets a notification with the network's reason. Open Manage to reconnect.
